Mother's day

My violet plants are all sending up buds and blooming.
Done with a sharpie pen and Schmincke watercolor.

Our Japanese maple tree is in full leaf and the color is amazing.

And....
I thought I'd show you a photo of our duck swimming in "her pond". She just seems to love it here. She splashes around quite contently. We still haven't found her nest though it must be nearby.

5 eggs in this nest! A pair of cardinals have a nest in this grapevine ball hanging under our deck. It's fairly protected from the weather and we can see it by looking out the window.
Happy Mother's day!

The paintings are beautiful - so delicate! And I love following the progress of the pool and your resident duck. Is there enough room for ducklings?

Thanks helen and shirley!

Shirley--I think there's room in the pond for a few little ducklings-- guess they will have to take turns once they start growing! I hope she raises a family here--it'd be fun to watch.
